(Primarily online) Dating/flirting tips?

I've come to the realistic conclusion that I'm only ever going to find a girlfriend on the internet, because where I live just does not offer anything for young gay people. Here's the thing: I guess I'm even socially inept on dating sites. It seems that anytime a girl tries to message me, our conversations just don't click. One time this girl messaged me, I was pretty into her, and she asked if it was okay that she wanted to kiss me..I gave a teasing "We'll see" and never got anything back, am I just supposed to say "Yes, baby" or play hard to get with "No."? I've been talking to this girl since August...97% match, she messaged me first, willing to connect with me on all other forms of social media, but it's like you have to force things besides "Yeah" out of her, I've tried asking her questions to start conversations, but it feels like an interview which is awkward to me. Then I say "Sorry if I'm being intrusive" "No, no it's fine and I like getting to know you better" ?? I wonder if we're too much alike, because I tend to be reserved, but I also have plenty of friends online that I got comfortable with and can joke with, and got that way before 3 months.

Lesbians of Reddit, what are some helpful tips on flirting with/dating girls?

submitted by lovehasnolimits to AskReddit [link] [comments]

HOT new flirting tip: how to ATTRACT MEN by EXISTING as a young-ish TEEN in COLLEGE!! (aka how a grown man decided it was okay to date me)

I graduated high school at 15. And in my very first semester of being a full-time community college student, a 21-year-old male classmate started pursuing me.
To be clear, I was *not* shy about being so young -- I was always casually slipping it into conversations and emphasizing it, like the arrogant little shit I was. People asked me about my age all the time too because I looked like a teenager (which is what I was). If you knew me, I would somehow make sure you knew my age.
So it was with this man, whom I will refer to as J. J was part of a group of friends/study buddies I made in a math class -- let's call them the Squad. I developed a crush on him pretty fast and I guess it was mutual. Again, I loved flaunting my youth, and it was clear he was attracted to that. One time, he pulled up a photo of plants on his laptop (obviously weed, but I was sheltered) and I asked what kind they were. He laughed and rubbed my back and told me how endearing my innocence was. He also used to say the classic groomer line: "You seem so mature for your age!"
*INTENSE SIREN SOUNDS*
I'll be fair. I was way better at math than J was, and I talked like many precocious children do: formally and with way too many flowery bonus vocab words that he didn't understand. But I was not anywhere near the emotional maturity level of a 21-year-old, not to mention my lack of experience with romance and all other aspects of adult life.
Anyway, we started dating. I suspected it might be a bad idea, but I was 15 and infatuated. Things moved super fast. We said "I love you" after only two weeks. It started going downhill when he kissed me for the first time -- yes, HE kissed me. Not "WE kissed". I was pretty bad at saying no, but he should have read my body language. He knew I'd never kissed anyone before and I wanted to wait a bit longer. But he said "come here" and pulled my rolling chair towards him and put his tongue in my mouth. I guess it might have seemed romantic to him, like Gone with the Wind or something, but I'm no Scarlett O'Hara. (To illustrate how bad he was, I couldn't enjoy kissing for years after we broke up.) Then he started making out with me in public all the time, which mortified me. I had friends all over campus and a number of them saw us because we were literally out in the open, and I'm sure some of them saw us in the back of his car too. I tried to explain that I didn't want to do that anymore, but he asked me why and when I said I was embarrassed he brushed me off and told me to stop caring what other people think. We discussed sex at one point and he said he didn't want to go to jail, which is considerably better than nothing, but it makes me wonder if that was the only thing holding him back.
I would like to point out that everyone knew two things: my age, of course; and the fact that J and I were together. The Squad, my friends, his friends, my sister's friends, even my mom somehow found out (and fun fact: he's the only one of my boyfriends she's immediately approved of). This was 2016, and yet no one criticized it. No one spoke out. No one tried to talk either one of us out of it. And everyone loved J.
Oh, here's the cherry on top: he was the first person I came out to as bi. He got quiet for a moment and then said I should have told him earlier because if he'd known, he wouldn't have dated me. (And yet being 15 didn't deter him. HILARIOUS.) He later cried about the fact that I wasn't going to heaven with him. (Also hilarious.)
At this point I was getting overwhelmed, and I used to block out my feelings when I was overwhelmed. That was a good thing in this occasion because I abruptly stopped liking J after two months and got up the courage to break up with him. I walked around campus in shame for the next few months, wondering if anyone was going to recognize me as the sl*t with beard burn who made out in public. J seemed genuinely sad about the breakup, but he walked with his head high and didn't lose any friends.
The bad news: he was in a few of my classes at community college afterwards and now we go to the same 4-year university. To add insult to injury, he lives with one of my good friends and they're best friends. (This friend doesn't know we dated.) It feels like I can't get away from him.
There were a few other older guys who flirted with me but they didn't go all "full steam ahead!" after I told them I was a minor, unlike J. Anyway, I'm an adult now in a healthy relationship with a wonderful person. If you're young and going to college, please be more wary than I was. Your adult classmates may be charming, but they might also be selfish and unsafe.

Haven’t been on a date/flirted in 7 years. Need some major tips on how to pick girls up at the bar.

So I’m getting out of a 7 year relationship. I’m 22M, so it was my entire teenage life. This being said, I never really had to flirt much or try to pick up girls because I always had one. So any tips for someone like me to pick up girls at a bar or anywhere else?

Tips for Flirting With/Dating Trans Men?

So there's this trans guy I know and hes a ton of fun and I really like hanging out with him but I'm a little worried about the thought of getting into a relationship with him because of him being trans. I don't guess I could explicitly say why I'm worried it's just that I've never really thought of myself being with a trans guy, and as much as he really is a man, there are some technical differences that I don't really know how to approach. Let me be clear and say I'm not transphobic and don't have any aversion to dating a trans guy, it's just that everything I know about gay relationships has not necessarily taken a trans guy into the equation. Does anyone have any advice, anecdotes, or otherwise to offer?

YSK: Your waiter/bartender isn’t flirting with you, they are doing their job

I think this gets lost in translation a lot. In the US service industry, many of the staff rely on tips. We have regulars we may give freebies/discounts to every now and again, but we work for tips - not your cell phone number.
Edit: This isn’t a blanket statement, obviously some waitstaff due flirt. However, they usually make their intention known beyond “yes sir” and “no ma’am”

Help/tips on interracial dating/flirting

Hello I am a new guy here, but I believe that you guys can help me.
I have the beta problem, but is not on the same way as guys in the United States have. I live in a third world country (shithole) in South America. Around here most woman are black/dark skinned.
The problem is that I am a 24 years old white, ugly, skinny man (and have small dick). Sometimes I feel like God just hates me, or likes seeing me suffer.
Here in my country the woman, from 15 to 35 years old, only see black or dark skinned, big strong, agressive, gorilla like man as attractive/manly.
Can you guys give me some help on how to find a way to have a girl? Thank you and sorry for the bad grammar, english is my fourth language and I am still learning.

[Question] What are some simple body language tips/hacks/habits you've developed for flirting and dating?

I would love to hear some of your advice on this topic!
When you are in a good mindset or state what are some of the non-verbals you find your self doing?
I'll start it off...
I find that when I'm "ON" my eye contact is really good. As I dance or walk around I'll catch girls staring and and use our eye contact as an invitation to go up and say " Hey, I don't think we've met yet?" or "You can't stare at me and not say hello!"

"Dating Tip: Even if you think the guy you went out with last night is a dream, don’t stop flirting w/ every guy you see."

Laura Doyle, beloved author of RPW favorites "The Surrendered Wife" and "The Surrendered Single," recently tweeted the quote in the title.
I'm curious to hear what you think about this attitude. What is the RPW stance on casual dating and seeing multiple suitors at the same time?
My take: I agree with Laura Doyle. Dating is a numbers game. The goal is to find the highest quality man who will commit to you, so it is imperative to go out and meet different guys. Does that mean you say yes to every single man who approaches you? No, of course not! RPW, however, should be open to serendipity and opportunities to get to know potential, high-quality men. Casually dating (i.e. no sex and no exclusivity) is A-OK and the optimal dating strategy to gauge your own SMV and find the best man possible.
I know there are many users that disagree with me. For instance:
i think the rpw version of casual dating is finding ONE man that you are interested in, going on dates with him, and seeing if he's interested in a monogamous ltr. we don't encourage women to maintain harems of orbiters or fwb partners.
So I'm posing this question to the community: Is casually dating (no sex, no commitment) multiple men at the same time an acceptable RPW behavior?
Looking forward to hear what you think!

Dear Reddit: What's the flirting protocol where you're from?

I've noticed when people (usually Americans) give out dating/flirting tips, I usually think "that would never work here" (UK). How different is it really? And do you notice a different response from foreigners as opposed to your native folk?
